now im like :-?
Oh, tell me about it!
I always thought that the Omega 'facelift' (which is, incidentally a term used across the industry, but totally unofficial) was called the 'C', but please god, dont call it that on here, you'll get corrected like mad!
The 'B' is the model made from 1994-2003 (but sold upto 2004, so did it have a 9 or ten year run? Thats another story!)
As you rightly say the 'A' is what we all know and love the Carlton.
However, as around 45% of my life is spend mis-typing fcaelift or minni-flacelift or faclirt (well, you know what I mean) I suggested a while back that despite it being not technically correct, how about we all just refer to the facelift as the 'C'? the pre-facelift as the 'B' This would eliminate all the confusion as there's
constantly people selling various parts, or asking for help on various cars like
"For sale Omega B MV6 spoiler 20quid"
"Which car mate?"
"B"
"Yeah but which, facelift and pre-faceflit are different"
"Sorry mate, it's pre-facelft"
"Oh, never mind. Cheers"
"Cheers"
Thing is, that facelift ones are made by Prodrive and so rare that they currently fetch more on the black market than Turin Shrouds. Prefacelift are much more common.
Its the same story with dashboards, steering wheels, front/rear bumpers, side trims, alloys, seats, headlights, foglights, switchgear, bootlids, bonnets, you name it. There is SO much different on the facelift that I reckon it deserves a new designation, ie:
C
No one owns a Mk I Jag,
technically but chat to the Jag owners club and everyone knows what you mean, the one that came before the Mk II, obviously! But it was never called that at the time.
I've essentially given up on the point, I only suggested it as I thought it made things clearer and easier.
As I say, the term 'facelitf' (oh, done it again!) if just as technically incorrect as the term 'C' but like I say, I'm too old and tired (26, and ready for the knackers yard already, really) to care!
