 Annoyances with your Omega
It costs too many quids to run,
costs too many quids to insure,
costs too many quids to tax,
worth jack-all,
looks dated,
and I can't sell it!
 ::) ::) ::)

I do still like it though (even though I need to sell). :-/

Right well, for those who say that the horn is in a good position, I had a good look today, with hands in my normal driving position above the cross bar, the buttons are at least 4" away, hardly convenient. To put the buttons adjacent to thumbs, the hands have to be below the crossbar. Now come on chaps and chapesses, who can honestly say that is how they drive? :y

The way I normally drive, the horn buttons are less than 1" away from my thumbs :-? so yeah.. pretty convenient ;)

Nope, it's one long straight road from home to work .. and I go home in reverse ;D ;D ;D

Actually I paid attention to how I hold the wheel this morning on the way to work - my right hand stays wrapped around the spoke on the right (thus, thumb by horn) unless I'm turning a tight right hand corner - in which case my left hand picks up the left hand spoke (thumb by horn again) and my right hand shuffles around to the top to assist - and vice versa for a tight left hand bend.

Parking, of course, all bets are off and who knows where my hands end up ;D

[edit] I realise steering this way would see me fail a driving test.. ;D

Sorry to be pedantic Jaimie, but 'pretty close' doesn't cut it. Are you saying that when you drive 'enthusiastically' your hands are, normally, below the crossbar? On the crossbar is almost impossible, if you want to feel that you can cope with blowouts or other emergencies. I tried both on the bar and below today, and both felt most unnatural to me. Perhaps I have  a different wheel. :-?

Its Jaime, or am I being pedantic :P

Anyway, when I go into 'enthusiastic' I tend to go to a 9/3 oclcok (thumbs just above spoke on Omega (and Rover as it happens)). I feel I have far more control, and then only need to adjust positions for tight (therefore slow) corners. Also, easier/quicker to apply emergency adjustments if the car loses stability.

I have a standard Omega wheel, and have in all my Omegas. Admittedly the one in the MV6 is very well worn ;D - which reminds me, must look for one in the For Sale section...

Yup, 'enjoyed' a blowout before when in full enthusiastic mode.  Actually, more than once ;D

If I remember, I'll photo the wear on my wheel, so you can see.

All in all, we are all different, and if we all designed a dash, we end up with 9000 different designs.

I have no real annoyances with prefacelift Omegas (Facelift, thats a different matter), all controls are in a convenient place imho.  I won't want a horn in the centre, sounds like others would. Some still like it on the stalk.

The really annoying thing with my Omega is the way the bloody thing mists up in wet weather. Tried everything and it still does it. Also the radio is total rubbish

Do you have the aircon on?

State of scuttle drain?

State of exhaust vents?

None of mine have suffered any worse than other cars I've had, even when the A/C is kanckered ;D

Yes tried all of that.
It seems to be more apparent on the estate. It seems the only thing that really clears it is the air con, but i shouldn't really have to put it on to clear it, that is what the demisters for. I am not the only one with this problem as it has all been posted before thru various members
