ATF change, gearbox seems smoother!
« on: 23 November 2010, 20:06:09 »

Hello, a few hundred miles ago I changed the ATF in the AR35 on my 3.0 Elite. Prior to this it didn't seem to be jerky or unsmooth or anything untoward apart from a clonk noise very very rarely and only when it was cold.

After the change it seems much better, alot smoother, it seems to change up earlier from a cold start and not hang onto gears. The changes are barely noticeable, and when you pull away it does it seamlessly! Yeah some of it could be in the mind, but I'm happy with that!

One more job down!

I thought I had no problems until I changed the fluid now it's lovely!

Mine had 115k on the clock when I changed ATF, it hadn't been done upto then.

What engine/box have you got? I made a little guide for this job, it's still in the test section atm. It's quite straightforward though

From what I have heard on OOF the 2.5 has the ar25. I would've thought it'd be the same if not v similar. The filter is the same. I imagine the casing and sumps etc will be the same only the innards might be slightly different due to cost etc.

Get the tech2 updates for your box, and it will be even smoother. :y

I will try, but I don't think there is anyone near me, and I'm not paying stupid dealers stupid dealer rates when I'd rather give it someone on OOF!
