did autovaux supply the wrong timing belt ?
« on: 12 December 2010, 22:46:43 »

I am busy refitting the rebuilt head, and come to the timing belt and stuff. The new belt they supplied is 2.7cm longer than the old one. The box says its for a Frontera 2.2i long and sintra 2.2i 16V, no mention of Omega.

Have they supplied the wrong part ?

I am right ****** ***, I have spent quite a few hours over the weekend fitting everything, and was hoping to get her finished tonight, so could finally check things tomorrow and hopefully get back on the road, in comfort, however the time taken to sort it out and wait for them to send the correct one, or they may expect me to go there to change it.  :P :P :P

Why can't they sort them selves out and sell the right part. :'(

EPC list the same belt for the Omega, Frontera and Sintra.

As its from Autovax i take it its a Non Vauxhall Boxed item, it could be a case the the kit  has been mis-packed by the manufracture

A while ago they were selling Aux belts for V6's that were too short.... surely there has to be some middle ground!

Could be, it says on the box Conitech CT 924, 171 Z.

If it fits all these models, I will be surprised. The tensioner will have to move over about 1.3cm to take up the slack, and I doubt it can go that far.

1 off V55342     Tensioner Pulley, timing belt
2 off V55314     Deflection/Guide Pulley, timing belt

Does the belt that they supplied match what is supposed to be in the kit ? there should be a number on it somewhere.
