Self levelling

Just investigating a possibility for improving the ride whilst towing.

Is it possible to fit self levelling suspension to my CDX?
If it is possible, what is involved, what parts would I need and how much should the parts cost from an OOF breaker??

Just curious.......... ::)

My personal view would be that it is nothing but hassle. You would be better off buying some Bilstein B4's and some spring assisters.

If the wiring is present in your loom you would need the sensors, front to rear air pipes, the pump which fits up under the front wing and a pair of good working s/l shockers , Oh and the softer rear springs without broken bits.

The shockers probably would need buying new and even on TC are a lot of dosh (£160 at a guess for a pair).

having said that I have everything you need apart from the shockers on my elite I am breaking. It all works except the shockers which are shot. Make me an offer and I will package it all up and post it to England on payment of a small Paypal deposit.     :y

Otherwise it's plug and play. Will work with any springs, as plod prove.

As dampers they aren't brilliant. Maybe the Monroe air assist dampers would be better on non elite cars?

Chris, I don't think the Monroes work that way. My understanding is that the shocks have a schraeder valve and you can pump them up with a standard tyre airline for when you are towing or carrying a boot load of stuff. For normal use you let some air out of the valve on each side. They don't interface with the Omega s/l air pipes at all.

Chris, I don't think the Monroes work that way. Understood. The thinking is the Monroes are better dampers. So it's an attempt on the best of both worlds. Automatic Monroes with omega system. I have no idea how they work, never laid eyes on them.

We are in Martins world, as he has Monroes on his.  :-/

I have a vague recollection of someone managing to find aftermarket shocks that connect to the Vx Airlines :-/ :-/

I've got monroes on my elite. The airlines clip on as normal, or there is a hose and pressure gauge allowing you to control pressure manually

And do they rise/fall properly if you move the sensor arm?
