Need to order LPG stuff today. Tielo or eBay?
« on: 19 July 2011, 10:07:10 »

I need a decent reducer, 2 x filters, and some various pipework. I want to order it today, for delivery tomorrow or at latest, Thursday.

Is it worth me getting hold of Tielo, or going directly through ebay?

Also looking at the KME gold Vap here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LPG-autogas-KME-Gold-Reducer-Vapouriser-upto-380BHP-/250841061922?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a674ada22

I can see, that there doesn't appear to be a temperature sensor?

Is there one??? If not, what type do I need to get? :/

Are you sure that isn't Teilo? Some of my kit arrived with the gas4car logo on it. "South Coast" as location. Seems to fit.

I assume you have the temperature sensor from the front end? It won't come with the vapouriser as it depends on the type of ECU.

Hi Kev

Sadly the temp sensor that was with the vaporisor was broken - so I don't have one of these.

Hopefully I can get a compatible one though?  :-[

Well, given the ebay seller seems to be Teilo's outfit - I've purchased it from there. My logic is, he will probably have administrative people sorting out the despatch etc of this, so should be more reliable than direct contact.

So I have just bought:

1) KME Gold Reducer. I didn't want to spend £99 on one really, but given it's good reviews on here, and the fact I want to keep the car long term, thought it worth the investment.

2) 12mm inline filters, x 2

3) lots of 4mm hose

4) lots of 12mm hose

5) Some coolant hose

6) Clips etc

7) 8mm connections to connect my poly to the VAP.

The only thing I need to source now, is a temperature sensor for this reducer, that's compatible with the STAG kit.

Any ideas?  :y

You should have tried him... You would almost certainly have got it cheaper than that and he'd have sorted it all for you ;)

Temp sensor... We get a screw in one supplied with the kit that gets trimmed down and replaces the screw in the bottom of the vaporiser

I'm sure when I bought a stag kit some time ago, it came with a long temp sensor... and I still have this, because the reducer also had one fitted.

So, can I just cut this down with a hacksaw and use it ? :)

Yep... Make sure you put a nut on it before you cut it down ;) ;)

Also, you'll need to fiddle with the settings a bit to find the right sensor ;)

Brilliant!!

Assuming the goods arrive before the weekend (hopefully sooner, so I can pre-prepare brackets, etc), I will have this beast on LPG at the end of this weekend :y ;D

Can't argue with that, for good service.

Email sent to say goods despatched, and tracking number provided already.  :y

Have you got the car running as it should now?

just thinking the golden rule was dont convert a car with issues - making troubleshooting a nightmare?

One evening I was bored at home, unpacking stuff into our new place.

I came across a brand new GM fuel filter.. and thought "Ah, I'll go fit it".

Next time I drove the car, I put foot down as normal, and left half my rear tyres on the driveway....  ::) ;D
