Cavalier has developed a nasty oil leak overthe last week so investigated that today. Oil leaking from somewhere around the vacuum pump on the rear of the alternator.Removed alternator, then removed pump from it.Cleaned everything up and smeared a little instant gasket around where the O ring sealsl the pump to the alternator, then replaced the pump onto the alternator.
Intention is to refit alternator tomorrow and hopefully find the leak has stopped. If not a new O ring will have to be sourced from VX I suppose. :-\

Not quite 'today' - it was last weekend, but I promptly poked off to Cornwall where there's no internet and no mobile phone coverage immediately afterward..

Took the M3 around Oulton Park repeatedly at high speed.. then drove it home with no front brakes (basically down to metal on metal)  :-[ :-[ :-[

Removed the wheels, n/s/r door and rear half of the fuel pipes on my breaker.
Vacuum pump oil seal for the Cavalier didnt arrive,so couldnt put that back together .Therefore had to press my Own Omega into service to go to work.Still got an ever growing, but non urgent list of things I want to do to it,but never seem to find the time or decent weather to do them.

Noticed a nice scrape (under the dirt .. it really needs a wash) from 4" forward of the passenger rear door trailing edge right down to the rear bumper.

Don't remember doing it myself so I'm going to assume it happened the other week in Cornwall. Boo.

Got in Mrs VXL's estate and had the alternator lamp glowing by the end of the road, turned round, dumped it back on the drive and got in my DTi.

Bit of swapping around tomorrow, Jane in my DTi, Me in my 3.2 and the Estate can sit and rot until I get to have a closer look at it after work, only had a new tyre on it yesterday after a screw found it's way into the sidewall of a four week old tyre.  :'(

It would be a bloody good tin basher who could fix my tow pole.

But no bones broken, not even her nose, despite what I was thinking :P

Began the Silver Bullet's front-end strip-down after last week's full frontal unfortunate demolition attempt incident.

Am hopeful that I can straighten the rad, but will deffo need new headlight adjusters .... I reckon ....  :o

That's the last time I let TB get involved at a meet :-[
