Removed the scuttle, and got two surprises.
Firstly, all the clips were there!
Secondly, power sounder was already disconnected. It's now been removed  :y
Was hoping to find the alarm also disconnected so as to explain why it wasn't working though  :-\

Check the horn itself, I've seen a couple failed now.

Can I just put an external power across it to test?
Or what would be the best / simplest way to check?

Well it must have failed, there's nothing from it at all.
Checked my highly technical test kit using a light bulb, which did work. Replacement needed me thinks.
Came to light recently when I was jacking the car up to change a wheel. Car was still locked and the hazards started to flash, though no audible alarm. Now I know why  :)

Checked the oil after noticing an oil slick under it in the road. Level was OK.

Pressed the Omega into service again today as the Cav had a flat tyre this morning.
Went to fill it with LPG and noticed that the "filler cap" was missing. :(
Then noticed that whoever used the LPG pump before me had left their cap sat on the pump. :)
  :-X ::) ;D
