Washed & polished the Hyundai Terracan myself (usually washed at local handwash) looks terrific the metallic paint on it has an excellent finish to it..Now treating myself to a beer & a cheese & onion sandwich!!

Got both struts off today to change the springs to cure what I thought was a broken spring (clonk clonk) to find the offside tyre is dangerously worn on its inner edge  :'( Lower arms I thought. Dropped the steering knuckle off both arms and gave them a bit of horsepower, both have play so its off to All German Parts for some Lemforders. Busted both ABS sensors as they wouldnt come out of their holes ("Apply some anti seizure paste when fitting the sensor" it says in the Haynes book. Yeah well, the previous owner obviously didnt!) And cant work out how to get the vertical nuts and bolts undone. Where is the bolt head, is it on top of the subframe or is there a hole in the subframe and the bolt head is recessed? I cant see diddly under the bonnet! Anybody got any pictures of the bolt heads whereabouts?

Drivers side can be reached from above the engine bay with a couple of long extensions.

Nearside is a dog to do as has to be from underneath and recess is partly covered by the engine mount ::)

When refitting, tighten as per the guide, otherwise you'll be doing them again in a couple of weeks along with more tyres...

Full alignment at Wheels In Motion or similar afterwards as well :y

Just looked at WIM website, its a bit confusing to say the least. They've got dealers who will do the alignment all over the place, are these as good as the full blown WIM sites? There's one in Tonbridge just a few miles from me in Tunbridge Wells...
