I never greased mine when fitted to the Elite, and I don't hear them creaking - but as I have Shack Ear that probably accounts for it. :-\ ::) ::)

The grease supplied with them is to help prevent them wearing prematurely.  :y

Something not right there, head cleaned up before refitting? Skimmed? Overheated when it failed?

My 2.2 is still on its original head gasket at 165k

Busy afternoon :y

Fixed aircon...sort of ::) does at least work on the ignition switch now...

Explored the possibilty of removing the slack from the brake pedal travel, easier said than done.

Found my coolant leak, and the source of my damp drivers foot well. Leaking heater matrix  :'(
?
Rewired my horn upgrade, so that the amp is now switched on with the ignition as it had a slight delay to it

Nope, tells tale of dealer servicing, I wonder if that coolant was ever changed before it went DIY!

But 3 gaskets for Phil? Wondering if the head was skimmed or overheated, not getting a good seal?  :-\

Since FatherT's was changed it's done 40k  :)

Not done a thing so far. I have lots I need to do - the Cavalier is currently minus 3 wheels, wishbones, droplinks, handbrake cable, and o/s rear brake shoes.
Its rained cats & dogs all bloody day long here,so couldn't get on it. Have brought two of is wheels and a pir of replacement tyres to work with me tonight though, and will be changing them over shortly.

Rear brake shoes, rear slave cylinder, handbrake cable, droplinks, new balljoints fitted to the wishbones, two new tyres - on the Cavalier.
Cost me about the same as I paid for the car. ::) ;D
The price of the car is paid for in fuel savings every 6 weeks though,so its well worth keeping it running. :)
