MOT due 7/1/15 ...   :)  :)

Advisories on "rear tyres approaching legal limits".... so if they are legal they are legal ..whats that all about !

when your doing 75mph on a motorway and its torrential rain and standing water,a bit dark and you hit a patch of standing water, the difference between "the legal limit" and 4mm can be life n death.

Was thinking that as I read it :D
If it's far enough up the expansion tank and it's the right colour, what's to check?
Checked with anti freeze tester to see what temp it's protected to, as I couldn't see what colour it was through tank as is rather filthy
My coolant remained bright pink, but due to a brand new genuine  hbv valve lasting only 20k, the topping up over a month reduced its strength quite a bit which is not what you want when parking it up in -20 for a week.

Well then...top it up with antifreeze, not water. ;)

Emptied some rusty tools of the boot. Laid the mats out to dry.

Topped up the washer fluid. Lowered the tyre pressures.

...and put the drivers seat back back on, again. ::)

Put new UJ's in the Navara front propshaft. That in itself was not too bad a job but getting the prop off was the problem. Thread lock, the dreaded thread lock that required each and every bolt to be heated up to liquefy the thread lock, only for me to reach for the spanner and by that time the three degrees outside temperature had solidified the bloody stuff again before I could get a good turn on the nut.
Took bloody ages to get off and about ten minutes to get back on.......with new thread lock on the bolts.  ::) ::)
Yes i know why it's needed but I still can't believe that a 14mm nut with 14 stone hanging off the spanner can put up such a fight..........until you melt the thread lock, then it's easy.  :y
