Busy day there :y

Tension the idler with a two legged puller then smack it :y

Is there room to get a puller in or do you drop it first ?
There should be with a minimum of fuss... take it you're struggling with the body end rather than the tie rod end :-\

With the bit that connects with the cross member which then connects to the track rod, has a rubber cover below it, always popped in the past. This one does not want to move

Idler now replaced with new one from dealer, o/s drop link done. Plugs done on 135, coil pack has a date of 2013 on it so happy days ( small bit of oil but can't see a leak ) plugs on 246 covered in oil and coil pack split with a date of 2001 so could be the original. I have a 2008 one in the garage so that can go on and I think a new cam cover gasket on that side.

Must pull my finger out on this as the wheels are due back on Monday. Just been over to the dealers for a few bits and checked the part numbers on the cam belt kit as I have a new ( 2 months on the LPG 2.6 ) set in the garage, but the part numbers are not the same so had to get one for the 3.2. Water pumps are the same number.

They have the part numbers as
2.6 kit 09201887 @ trade price £116.87 + vat
3.2 kit 93172354 @ trade price £116.87 + vat
Not looked yet but what is different on the two kits between the 2.6 and the 3.2

Cam locking kit due back Saturday morning so will see if I can get all the jobs done by Monday. Have a nice new header tank in the garage which I put on the 2.6 in July so that can go on when I do the water pump. :o :D

I can't think of any differences between 2.6 and 3.2 cam belt kits - unless early ones still had the eccentric tensioner on the lower pulley. I'd say you'll be able to use the kit, in any case. You might just need to swap the upper tensioner backplate if it's different.

If the kit has been sitting for years, get a new one, though, as the bearings may still have dried out.

I got the 2.6 kit from the dealers in July last year and it was on the car for 2 months max. I have just picked up the 3.2 kit today from the dealers, will have to match the two in the morning and see if they are the same, if they are the 3.2 kit can go back.

Gave both Omega's a good wash, noticed a massive crack in the marked police cars windscreen! Also, got to look at its replacement today, a V70 D5!

Sadly, there is a 4'' one there, but the 10'' one on the passenger side is even better!

Oh, and sent the V5 back as someone is/was incapable of copying my name from the order form to the New keeper box on the V5 >:( if you want a job done properly... :-X
