Collected my three passengers, and headed for Essex. Where we rang at five towers with some fine bells, including this interesting ring of 8 in the centre of Basildon:

Even though they were the lightest ring of the day, that steel structure doesn't have mass of a traditional church tower, and the whole thing vibrates as you ring. They're bloody loud in the ringing chamber too.

We also had a good pub lunch, which is an important part of a tower grab.

Omega content: we were the last to leave each church, and the first to arrive at the next one :y

I recently(where has the last year gone?  :o ) started again after a 23 year break.

I got interested in it when staying with my Grandfather; Roy collected him on Sunday morning, and they were told to take me with them to stop me mooching about the house and getting in the way. An interesting chat afterwards, and stopping at the club for a couple of pints on the way home before lunch showed what a social thing it is.

We looked up some contact details of my local towers, and I started when I got home.

Had four Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2's fitted to the daily driver.
Like others, I too am interested. Particularly in resistance to tramline when they wear a bit, and overall durability.  I assume grip is on par with RTs.
Yep grip definitely on a par with RT's and judging by the standing water on todays short 60 mile run they have better grip in the wet compared to the previous generation. Wont be able to comment on durability just yet but I wont be surprised if they drop off a cliff at about 3 - 4 mm just like the previous version!

Current planned installations for this month will see about 3.5k done on them so will be able to update a little more then.

Thought I'd better look at the mysterious case of the disappearing coolant on Mrs TB's car (aka TBE).

The briefest look at the driveway on Friday afternoon showed it appeared to be towards rear of engine bay.  Only ever going to be one culprit really.

Sadly, by the time I'd finished with bro yesterday, the dealers were shut. Bugger.

I know, I'll text Mr Gixer, he's bound to have a spare one.  And he did, brand spankers.  So blatted over to his to nick it off him in the only working car we have (Battlebus).

Took the scuttle off, and twisted plenum forward so it rested upside down on rad, and pressuirsed the system with the home made valve in old coolant cap tool.  Sure enough, HBV was leaking.

Due to all the extra plumbing due to LPG, I had to get the servo vac pipe out the way, so got hold of the elbow and gave it a good wiggle as I usually do to pull it out, only for the elbow to crumble. Bugger, bugger, and triple bugger, as she needs the car tomorrow. "I am not using the Battlebus for work" she grumbles.

Hmmm, who would have a spare vac pipe.  Texted that Gixer fella again, blat back over to his, getting some fuel for the Battlebus on the way, and by the time I'd got there, he's magic'd one up from somewhere.

Get home, fit pipe, job jobbed.

As it was a nice day, run a new microphone in her car as well, as the GM mic is a bit deaf.

Took for test drive, coolant level good, audio level good.

Thanks to chrisgixer for the stealing of parts, and being able to dig them out (possibly even removing vac hose off one of his cars) whilst he had family visiting.

Oh, and put some more electricity in the Bullet, seeing as it wouldn't start to go and pick up bits....

You could have emptied your tanks in the battlebus.  Would have saved me a job filling it ;D.  It'll run on most things I suspect.

Today's saga is every bit as "interesting".

*sigh*

Ran out of electricity. Twice.  Ran out of coolant.
