Ive had plenty of "excitement" in my life up to now. I'm now trying hard to slip slowly and quietly into decrepitude.
Well mind you don't need to go into a care home.  ;D

I have informed those concerned that I will top myself when that day arrives, and I wasn't joking.  ;)
Trouble is, you tend to lose the ability to top yourself...unless you're going to piss yourself to death.  ;D

Failed to get the Focus up the track to where we're staying last night, ran out of power.

Let it roll all the way to bottom again, and gave it all it had.

It probably averages 1 in 3 for about 250m, with bottom 50m or so being concrete, rest completely unmade - so no momentum just means wheelspin

Tried it backwards, so the correct wheels are driven? :D

Did that on first day getting up the short less than 10m driveway, about 1 in 2 slope. No clutch stinks like a hire car clutch ::)

Admired my shiny new front shock absorbers that I didn't put on and freed up the seized offside track rod, ready for alignment and new tyres.  :)

Fitted a new to me ABS sensor to the nearside front wheel, but the ABS light came back on.  :(

Treated the old girl to a good wash and mini valet.... did I do it myself? no, just sat in a chair with a cuppa, money well spent, saved me on my own doing it for an hour probably, and they did a very good job too  :y

Playing around with my new sand blaster. Variations in jet diameter, blasting material....learning by doing.

At last it works really good.

Later this afternoon I tested to remove the rear suspension bolts. One after the other. They all are free, nothing rusted. So removal of the rear suspension will be no problem.

97 Caravan should be great.

Disabled the rain sensing wipers in the VW via VAGCOM, to try normal variable setting instead. Live data check and all is well with DPF and other codes.

Dumped the Focus, mostly unscathed, and the mundano, complete with battle scars
