Today, when I should be reducing the size of the list of "stuff that needs doing to the cars", I find myself not outside making use of the wonderful weather, but underneath my bloody dishwasher.  Grrrr.

Fault found, part ordered, just need to wait for it to arrive. Although it was egay, so probably the wrong bit will turn up weeks late.

I'll have you know the innards of my dish tosser are spotlessly clean - sump, pumps, the lot .  Even the corregated drain hose was almost like new, with me shoving the dirt blaster attachment of the Karcher K5 down it, only a few small specs came out.

Now the outside, particularly round the back, is clearly a major metropolis of the spider civilisation.

The thought of having to wash up is incompatible with my mindset, and counting the number of plates and cups, and comparing it to likely egay delivery times, things aint looking good.  Hotpoint themselves are actually cheaper than egay, as is often the case, but their standard delivery looked too slow...  ...but on reflection probably still shorter than most egay sellers.


Anyway, due to above, faulty part has been cut and glued, and the machine has passed its self test diag cycle, and is now making a start on the pile of crockery by the sink.

Bloody thing got right to the end of the Intense programme perfectly, before popping up an F02 on the final drain cycle. Grrr.


Either the glue ain't held, or there is another fault on the bloody thing.

Advertised the Skoda Superb on Autotrader on Saturday morning @ £18k, just less than Autotrader's suggested price.
Six minutes later the phone rang and it went something like this:

"Been on the market long mate? It's well overpriced. There's one at £17k at a dealer I could have. I'm a taxi driver see, need a car ASAP. Take £15k? You won't get more."
"Lowest I'd go is £16750"
"OK, be there within the hour."
.. 45 minutes later the phone rings
"Actually can't make it till later. Know if there's a train from Loughborough that runs through Northampton? My brother has the money, see."
"No and we've waited in already, you said you'd be here within the hour"
"No mate, never said that. Be there at 2pm though."
"We'll be out as we've got something on already, and not back till it's dark."
"Oh, OK, I'll transfer you £100, you take it off the market, be there tomorrow"
.. like a retard, I did that. So now I'm out £70 for the Autotrader listing.

Today .. send them a text first thing: "We'll be there at 2pm"
2pm comes.
3pm comes. I call him:
"Sorry, stuck in traffic, be there in 30 minutes"
4pm comes.
4.15pm comes, two people turn up.. look at the car, tell me it's clearly been in an accident (it hasn't), needs a service (in 4000 miles, yes, yes it does), etc etc. Start making "We're not going to pay asking price for this" kind of noises..

I'm already pissed off as we've wasted half a day hanging around for them, and I make this known:
"Oh, you never spoke to us mate!"
"Well then who did I speak to?"
"My brother"
"Well his time keeping f***ing sucks, then"
"Er, yeah."

Anyway, quick test drive, he complains of a wobble in the steering wheel.. we get back..

Front passenger bloody tyre is delaminating! 

So I can't fault them for not buying it, really, but the rest of the experience has pissed me right off and I'm out £70, and now it needs a new tyre.


Though I think the thing that pissed me off the most was when they saw the dog (big, staffie cross) behind the door and said: "What is that, Staffie? Dangerous, you want to put that away mate."

Selling it to someone who buys it using someone else's credit card is apparently an effective way of selling a car. No fuss, not too much drama, just be sure to call the leasing company to confirm receipt before handing over the keys/car/v5

If you think selling it on Autotrader is bad ,try ebay 
you'll be in prison(for assault or murder) or sectioned in a secure facility within hours of the listing going live.
then it's someone else's problem to get rid of the car

On the daily I cleaned out the breathers and checked the easy bank for oil in the plug wells (Unfortunately not a bad enough miss to raise a code), dry as a bone... guess that means I need to check the other bank...  >:
