In the interest of keeping busy, I started going through the ML as it's filthy inside and has a few electrical gremlins.

Found and fixed the corrosion causing a taillight bulb warning and established the cause of the number plate bulbs not working.

Then removed all the boot trim, partly to clean it and partly to access the fuel tank sender wiring as the gauge doesn't work. Found evidence of mice having chewed up the sound deadening foam behind the boot side panels... :(

Then replaced the non working light sensor for the auto lights along with the overhead control panel as the one in the car had obvious issues including a burnt out bulb that had damaged the lens so it looked pretty manky. Turns out the reason the bulb had failed was because said mice were using the back of it as a toilet. Which also explained why the auto lights had stopped working... The panel is an ECU on the body CANBUS and this failure could also be behind the battery drain that the previous owner had solved by pulling the radio fuse but I will investigate that separately.

As Swmbo went metal detecting with our son, I fired up the Mig welder and did some more repair work on the Omega.  >:D
A bit more to do, as I didnt have that much time between shifts, but its getting there. Soon be time to get back on the cosmetic issues that I originally planned before I discovered the rust.

Given the RRS a much needed wash, been up by the river over the fields with the dogs every day this week, so much dust around I've never seen the land so dry around here.

Yep....same here. Dry as a nun's pussy.

On the plus side there has been no need to mow the lawns for the last couple of months. :y

Mine's dead.  :-\
.

Our back lawn is in a terrible state but the front is lush, very strange.

Changed the OSR radius arm bush on the galaxy, did the NSR last year but the MOT looms so had to get my ar§e in gear. Not a bad job, but definitely requires a third weetabix prior to starting.

I got a brake bulb failure warning recently on my W166 ML ...... It confused me as I'd thought all the tail lighting was via led ... turns out the brakes use standard filament 'bulbs' .... who knew!?  ::)

No bloody point watering here. The kids play out there year round. Which is great as they're not parked in front of screens but the lawn's so tiny we have no sodding grass left.

Artificial lawn next year I think.

Only thing growing on our back "lawn" is Dandelions. The little Tortoise loves it.  ;D

Funnily enough, one of the 3 messages mine is grumbling about is the third brake light because a couple of the LEDs have expired.

Stripped the interior out to get the head lining down.

One mouse house removed from above the front passenger seat.

Everything cleaned and refitted. Looking a damn sight better now. Snagging list is growing but have made a start diagnosing them. Might start a new thread for it...
