Ran over something on the Dual Carriageway at 5am.
3 miles later pressure warning, parked at destination to hear hisssssss.
So wheel swap, glad I've a spare.

Fronts just under half worn
Rears have a Couple of months before replacement due.

Wheels are tatty, laquer peel etc so may well be the time for a refurb and 4 new boots.

I wouldn't be without one, those pointless bottles of glue just don't work. Another stupid EU decree. Theoretically, you will use 2 gallons of fuel less,over the lifetime of your car, if you don't have to carry a spare around.

Mine doesn't have a spare, and nowhere to put one either.

They work for straightforward punctures *IF* used correctly, which nobody does. Ever.  Most just ram in on the compressor and shove it in.

But I agree with you about spares, and always get one sorted if the car doesn't come with one, even if that means space savers due to space.  I guess a time will come when the car doesn't even have room for one of those without it rolling around filling the boot area.

Had the rear wheels off the Omega while welding up the rear end, after chopping out rust.
Decided to give the wheels a coat of paint. Then decided to take the discs off and clean them up a bit and adjust the almost non existing handbrake while I was there.
Handbrake is now like a new one.

Sods law, the day that UPS finally delivered the two door cards for TPC from Spain, a seller in Germany listed a pair in the correct trim combination to match my interior...

And unlike the Spanish ones which still required sourcing the wood trims, the German ones are complete.

Obviously bought them, so checked, cleaned and repacked the Spanish ones and listed them back up for sale.

I wouldn't let the ones from Spain leave your possession until you've actually got eyes on the German ones.

Spotted this and as I don't very often have passengers in the back it could live in the rear footwell behind the front passenger seat. 

Something to ponder....  Although I carry a can of puncture goo and a compressor, I don't really like the idea of not having a spare.

I remember the first car I saw without a spare was a BMW. At the time I read BMW research that you only got one puncture every 93,000 miles. I’ve lost count of how many we have had but included mandatory recovery works really well here. Most times the tyres weren’t repairable.

No. It probably came with them from new though?

Yours being an F11 will have a square setup for the wheels. I think you would have to be careful with a space saver spare kit as the front discs and caliper on mine only just fit under a 19 inch wheel, might get away with 18 inch but no less.

I've dealt with the people in your link for space savers and jack kit with no issues.    If unsure regarding the front caliper clearance, phone them up as they are really helpful. Also, when I bought the 19" space saver for my wife's car, they notified me that you have two choices of tyre, either Continental or Ling Long. I hope never to use it but I still opted for the Continental. Think I paid around £124 direct from them, not via ebay, but we didn't opt for the wheel cover.

Touch wood I've had a reasonable run in the last 2 or 3 months, not withstanding a puncture about a week ago, but I was probably averaging about 1% of that claim last year.

We can't rely on breakdown services here in the UK, as the big 2 are beyond crap, with RAC being the worse - last time, 8 hours for them to turn up, and 15 hours from initial contact for them to get us off the side of the road.
