Checked on it using the app to see if a) anyone's been moonlighting in it as a london minicab and b) how much battery it's lost sitting in Heathrow meet & greet carpark for the last two weeks.

Surprisingly, the answers are: No, and about 1% (or 2 miles). Both of which seem like a good result to me as a lot of journos would have you believe that EVs can lose 1-3% a day in vampiric drain.  :y

Checked on it using the app to see if .........

The app is handy for checking the doors are locked, finding your car, flashing the headlights if you're close but can't quite find it, amongst a ton of other stuff that it shows.   :y

Apparently it will flash the lights and open/close the windows from 100+ miles away.

The dealer selling the car is going to be upside down once they've either figured out that the previous owner still has app control or given up on the mysterious electrical gremlins  >:D

Yes, you're correct, it would. The request to check doors, windows, fuel level and flash lights etc. goes to BMW Control Centre first, and then goes to the vehicle. When the vehicle is new, the first owner gets 3 years subscription to use the app/consierge etc after registering the vehicle VIN.  When the vehicle is returned/part exchanged, the dealer should perform a software wipe out. This erases any consierge requests sent from the vehicle, any navigation inputs and removes any music from the hard drive, but I'm not entirely sure if it blocks the app unless you terminate it yourself.  ;D

It wasn't a main dealer that bought it from PO, and I don't think they're that bright >:D

For an EV I would say it's a must-have, for checking it's actually charging for example. Which sadly isn't a given on public chargers.

Did a 2ins roof chop of the Herferod yesterday with help from 4 of my mates from the hot rod club, I did the cutting and they did the lifting! It worked out well and only had to slice the window frame enough to stretch it out 1/4ins each side, roof moved forward 1 1/2ins so B post cut out and moved back that far where it fits to roof/header rail. Another day of welding ahead then!

Made hers look almost respectable after she idiotted a concrete bollard on Friday, though having slight issues getting (replacement) rear light cluster to sit as flush as I'd like.

Started looking at the DAB issue on mine, but now need a grown up's advice

Had a wet carpet behind the drivers seat after the heavy rain last week, so today pulled the door card off of the rear door, to find a mess of silicone and duct tape where someone has attempted to seal the vapour barrier.  ::)

Renewed the duct tape and put it back together for the time being, and will order the proper sealant to do the job properly soonish.  :y

I finally got round to sealing up my rear door today, as it was a rare dry day.  ::)

As an interim bodge I had duct taped a length of electrical flex along the door threshold which raised it by 10mm or so and stopped the water from dribbling into the footwell.  :y

Anyway, I removed the door card, pulled off the vapour barrier and cleaned off the old sealant as best as I could which was sticky as hell.  ::)

Then I resealed the vapour barrier with butyl cord, reassembled the door card etc and hopefully jobs a goodun!  :y

Got the sparky stick out again. This time for Sons Civic.
Awkward reconstruction of the o/s/r sill corner. All done now and all good apart from a few minor burns and a cut on my head where I headbutted the rear hub.  ;D

Put some air in one of the tyres, sigh, and took it for a drive around Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire, taking in a bit or Warwickshire I believe.  Filming a stupid railway for the sad bastards.

Put the battery back on the V70 then put some new wind in the o/s front tyre. Really must get the slow leak on that looked at.
