nice pics enty, thought you'd been a bit quiet lately.
How did the car perform, any petrol/lpg figures to compare? Is lpg easy to find in frogsvil?

Sorry for the delay in responding .. but we got back from France on the Friday .. left for Zummerzet on the Monday .. returned this afternoon ... feeling a bit like a nomad right now ...  :)

Nice pictures - BTW how heavy is your van - mine is bigger in size (5 bed) but not heavy - but hits the fuel consumption hard.

My van is 1600 Kg MTPLM ... consumption on petrol used to drop from 23 mpg to around 18 mpg, on LPG it drops from 19 mpg to around 13 mpg., but with the reduced price of LPG I'm still saving around 10 p /mile ... in France that dropped to 7 p/mile due to  LPG being more expensive and petrol being cheaper than UK !

I think I've already answered the first bit, as to LPG availability there is stacks of it !!! and most hypermarkets have it well cheaper than the garages !! ... the satnav listing for LPG in france can be got for free here ::

http://stations.gpl.online.fr/appli/index.php?parEtape=Accueil

It worked really well. The ONLY problem with fuel in France at hypermarkets is the access road to the cashiers office ... its usually very narrow and on a tight bend ... makes interesting work with a long 'van on the back ....   :)

Hope those answers help .. :)

Me and a load of mates & families quite often get a large place in France in the summer, strangely I was looking at one in Millau a couple of days ago and it then turned up in one of your pictures. Bit of a coincidence, of all the houses in France etc....

I keep on returning to this thread just to see your great car Entwood! :y :y :y :y   What a lovely specimen of a 3.2 with splendid modifications!

Definately made up my mind now to go hunting for a late 3.2 Elite early next year when the prices should have fallen still further.  Bad news for current owners :'( but good news for potential buyers like me! ;D ;)

I was getting anywhere from 12 to 18 while towing on LPG last holiday.

Used more than normal - mine was loaded to about 1200kg at a guess.

that millau bridge is some piece of enginerring ,1st time i drove over it was surrounded by cloud and it was chucking down with rain had 24 tonnes of bananas in trailer going to barcelona ,dont ask why it was a good paying job . but one things for sure it beats the old road going up to rodez ,well worth the toll to go over it.

I did a trip to the South of france in 2008 with a mate of mine,

we did it via switzerland and italy along this route

http://bit.ly/lt3wv9

Was the best trip i've ever done.

All in about 7 days there and back.
Lots of driving, but some of the best roads in the world.
Including the grand St Bernard pass which joins Switzerland and Italy, and then a detour from Cuneo in italy, via a little place called Sospel (part of the WRC stages) where this road is , to Nice in France.

Can recommend a little coastal Village called Six-Fours Sur La Plage.
Wonderful place.
