Re the monitor, if the colour changes when you (Gently!) thump it then its prob a bad solder joint. This happens a lot in TV's because of the heat making everything expand/contract esp the soldered joints. Now they have stopped putting lead in solder, things are going to get worse. TEK scopes are great, I had a 465 for many years, and recently replaced it with a 2465, which I bought from the US. Its quite cheap over there now thanks to the exchange rate. I also have a 2465B that I am trying to repair, but getting spares is a pain. I mangaged to get a 7000 series mainframe along with some plugins and a 7L18 spec analyser. Thats really great for being flexible, trouble is its very heavy and needs a substantial table to suport it!. Maybe its being used to them, but I prefer analogue scopes to digital ones, what you see is what's actually there at the probe, not what some computer thinks it has got along with anti alias filters etc.
