HUGE public thanks to Marks DTM
« on: 09 August 2007, 07:52:01 »

Picked my car up from Mark last night,
He has finished fixing my coolant leak which turned out to be a much bigger job than expected.
Also fixed many other issues, see the Jimbobs coolant leak thread for details.
Also thanks to all else involved, ie TheBoy for tech2, Matchless for the aircon, Ron for the new camcovers and anyone else I've missed.

Drove the car the 100 miles home, erm...erratic driving style ;)  and averaged 61mph, with a consumption of 25.5
that is a good few mph faster, aircon also on, and STILL a good few mpg more than I managed going.
Car is also a lot smoother and quieter :)   Beautiful to drive again.

Checked the levels when I got to work this morning, and not a drop of coolant down, slight smoking from passenger side camcover, which will probably disappear in a few hundred miles.

Cant thank Mark enough for this, been without proper transport for a very long time now  :y

 :D

Cheers!
Jimbob.

The smoke should clear shortly as there were a few fluids split down that side.

Glad the coolant is sorted and its running better, it felt almost as good to drive as my old estate which is by far the best 3.0 I have driven!

Having no airleaks and the multiram working will do wonders to the economy and responsiveness.

So.....could the wife keep up?

She could, no probs, When we drive in convoy, I do keep her in the mirror,

had a few blasts to play where obviously the acceleration was too much
had to piss of a tit in a 407 at one point, dawdling along at 50, I overtake, so he speeds up, lights on full.
Then hit a 20 for roadworks, right up my arse.....I keep to the 20, as it ends he goes to overtake.....and faded in my rear view mirror  ::)

so smooth now, no pause at all

Loved passing Nantwich as well, anyone who passes will know Snugburys ice cream do a straw structure on their land, always worth seeing.

This years was a mini Lovell Telescope (Jodrell Bank Dish) looked amazing.

Ive a good few hundred miles to do next week, got a 'team building away day' near ripon next week, so be around yorkshire a bit.

Yep MDTM is one very clever and helpful chap!  :y

Interesting that you had a leak in the brake servo pipe, that's three i've heard of now including mine, so I guess it's worth checking, especially if someone else has done any work that involves removing the plenum.
