Just picked my new Omega!
« on: 20 May 2008, 21:48:03 »

Saw this on eBay thought it was worth a look.

Its a 1999 2.0 16v "CD" 98k on and had timing belt + water pump done a 4000 mile ago.

Its my first Vauxhall and very impressed, love the infomation centre bit!

Only problems ive found so far are handbrake is crap, needs to be pulled right up to the very top and just holds the car. Doesnt seem to dissengage properly as it squeels sometimes when pulling away. I think its the brake shoes so will take it to my local tyres/brakes place.

So, hello to you all!

"Hello" and welcome  :)

Looks a nice motor, but the misaligned mileometer would also cause me concern... if you have all the old MOT's it might be worth a check .. or you can check the last couple of years here ...

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk

This can help you check for a "clocked" car .. :)

Must be the angle or the fact its 2000 from ticking over to 100k.

Its got full Vauxhall dealer history upto 70k in 2006. Was serviced at 80k but not main dealer and all MOT's tally up from the last 5 years.

Hi there and welcome to the forum. That's a very nice looking car mate.

I'm guessing from the No-Smoking sign on the back of the driver's seat that it may have been a taxi at some point? Noting wrong with that, just an observation.

Where do you live, that area looks familiar?

Going to give it a good clean up this weekend and week nights!

Seriously need to get the handbrake fixed though. Keeps sticking on in traffic!
