cambelt change intervals

Hi everyone, I drive a 2002 2.6v6 omega auto, just wanted to know as to when is the cambelt due on these? i have rung vauxhall and theve told me its 8 years or 80,000, various other mechanics say 40k some say 35k and a few say 80k! iam confused, as ive just bought the car and i dont need the belt snapping. Any help will be appreciated cheers

40,000 miles or 4years between each cambelt change mate. It used to be 80,000 miles

hey, thanks for the replies!, sorry to be a pain but since its expensive iam   asking these questions! i told vauxhall id heard the same thing 4 years or 40k and they took my engine number etc down and they said that 40k or 4 years was for the 2.0 and 2.2 omegas. but the intervals were different on the 2002 2.6 v6 engines 8 years or 80k, something about a 98y engine type!
should i believe them? (i was speaking to their headoffice customercare and not just the dealership)

though iam still confused about the whole 2.0 2.2 and 2.6 thing, does it acutally make a difference or they are just talking rubbish

I've the same engine-spec mig ( one year younger) - stick with 4 years or 40'000 miles -better safe than sorry, sounds glib but in this case it's not - major piece of worry out of mind :y

V6 cambelt changes (complete kit not just belt!!) every 40000 or 4 years.
