Hi. Potential new owner
« on: 30 April 2009, 18:00:13 »

Hi there.
I'm looking to get an Omega fairly soon. Probably a last of the line 3.2 Elite, preferably an estate version.
I'm currently running a 2005 Lexus GS430 but due to redundancy, this has to go. An Omega seems to tick all the right boxes with me and I've always fancied once ever since I had my old Senator 24v.

I've been searching and you guys are certainly a fountain of all knowledge. WHat I'm looking for though I can't seem to find.
I'm after a guide to what I should look for when buying an Omega (other than the usual stuff when buying a used car).

Hello there and welcome to the forum.  :y :y :y

I'll allow the expert to give you advice about what you need to check when buying an Omega, BUT i'll tell you the following:

1. A service history is important

AND

2. Critical for the Omega is that you need to check if the FULL timing belt kit (belt itself + tensioner + pulley) have been changed every 40k miles / 4 years

Hello and welcome --- just have a wander around the forum to familiarise yourself with the common faults, and, as Ziad says, that belt is a MUST.
