Hi chaps,
A little about myself first off. I'm in my early 30's, one wife, one baby daughter, two cats, 40 odd fish, and currently four cars on the driveway.
TVR Chimaera. Fully re-furbed chassis, new hood and interior, but knackered engine, (slipped bore liner).
An old Land Rover Discovery. Off road front bumper, snorkel, diff guards, steering guard, rock sliders, etc. Used for a bit of off road fun, but currently off the road since it failed it's MOT back in the spring for faulty rear calipers and a rotten exhaust. I really must get that sorted before winter really sets in.
A diesel Seat Toledo, which has been my daily snotter for the past 12 months, but is about to be put up for sale now I have found it's replacement.
Which is........ A 2003 2.6 Omega CDX auto. Bought today for £1200. Two previous owners, 94'000 on the clock, 10 months MOT.
It has quite a list of what I'm hoping are small faults, which I aim to get sorted over the next few weeks, (just as soon as I have finished decorating my daughters nursery).
These include;
leaks from both rocker covers
no recent history to prove that cambelt, pullys, tensioners or water pump has been replaced
I need to change all fluids and filters
some slight weeping from the gearbox, so I need to replace those gaskets
coolent flush
front fogs in-op
reverse lights in-op
stereo in-op
the sunroof has a mind of it's own
the remote key / plip thing is in-op
it may need a new battery
a full brake overhaul, (discs, pads, handbrake sorting out)
new front tyres and geometry
boot soliniod in-op
Well, that's all for now. I'll let you know how things progress over the next few weeks, as I aim to tackle most of these jobs myself.
Bye for now.
