keeping my m/f/l Elite,new member
« on: 29 December 2010, 21:58:32 »

Hello to all the members, enjoyed reading  through many posts on the site for a while now, since i have decided to keep my Elite i thought i would register and say hello.
I used to have a '96 3.0 Elite a few years ago and loved that car,it had irm front lip spoiler and rear boot spoiler with brake light and over the years i did many upgrades and she ran faultlessly for 40,000 miles, only let go as the wife wanted a smaller car to learn to drive!as i have motorbikes as well it had to go,new owner was very happy,so to this one,i only got it as a stop gap early this year when my Pajero decided to blow its head gasket 2 days before i went to France towing a 2 axle railer with agri equipment for my sister, found it for £600 with full t&t and service history, high miles at 125k but i know they are good for it,towed the trailer no probs(bloody heavy and used a bit of juice!) and when i was running late for the ferry on the way back sat at 145mph rock steady for miles-got the ferry with 10mins to spare!
When the Pajero was fixed gave the Elite to my father as he needed a car,but as he has moved to France now aswell i have it back and put it on ebay but it only went for £410 as the milage is 135k now and the bloke didn't even turn up to collect! So after having a think and not wanting to give so much car away for so little money and reading about all the passion you guys have for your migs on here i have decided to keep her as my little plaything(i'm a compulsive fiddler) and enjoy tinkering with her(i'll keep the Pajero for winter, been a godsend in all this snow!)
Going to mesh the front grill, fully service all fluids and filters and get the cambelt changed. The bonnet is suffering some laquer peel and the rear door corners and arches have slight rust but 4 new tyres, new discs and pads, interior is immac and everything works, even all the dash lights and pixals!all alloys are immac and she rides perfect.
She is a v reg '99 but reg in 2000,i think you guys call them mini facelifts, going to enjoy owning and tinkering even if my 14 yearold daughter thinks its an old mans car!the bloody cheek! But then i also have a Kawasaki zx12r in the garage which she does think is cool.
Well thats all for now, although i must thank you guys on this forum for giving me inspiration to keep her and re-awaken my old love affair with the Omega Elite, many thanks :y

Hi & Welcome to the OOF..  ;)

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.
