Just bought a 2001 Y-plate silver 2.2 GLS, 101k miles, at auction for a very cheap (I thought) £500.
Must admit I was a bit wary before the drive home, but pleasantly surprised to find no faults as yet.
All electrics seem to be good working order and mechanically nothing untoward found as yet.....fingers crossed!
Am I right in thinking these cars are unloved in general, due to percieved thirsty engines and the current price of petrol?
I think I got a lot of car for next to nothing which seems to be the norm with Omegas at auctions.
A similar spec BMW, Audi or Merc at auction would go for a minimum of 2 grand and upwards...but whats in a badge on the bonnet, I say.
I plan to do the timing belt kit & water pump asap.
Any other hints as to what I should be thinking of doing next?

The Omega is my car...the wife drives a Golf plus diesel...averages 45mpg around town. :y
Dont think the Omega will get near that !  :-[
