I just chased my insurance company. They had an admission of liability from the other party this morning.

It's now closed off from my side, meaning no excess to pay, no loss of no claims, and no increase to premuim

I'm now dealing directly with his insurance account manager, who has sorted out a hire car already. They have already faxed the accident repair centre, to say that if it's a total loss, they'll settle with me, or if it's fixable - to go ahead with repairs, and they'll pick up the bill.

Hopefully this won't be so bad after all...

That's great James... I'd hot foot it down there and see if you can get any other blemishes sorted out on the bodywork while someone else is picking up the tab!

Ps how's ya neck?

Was 3-4 days after I was rear ended (at a low speed) my neck started suffering, couldn't move my neck fully and couldnt do a full day at work in front of a monitor.
Have bupa through work, so went along and got some physio, helped a lot, mainly posture and exercises
took months to have full mobility back, but got a couple of grand for my trouble

Neck is aching a bit, but certainly not seriously. Knee hurts too where I clobbered it on the steering column.

Not really worth claiming injurues for something so minor though.. because they might think I'm crying wolf if ever I had to claim for anything serious...

Be sure before you let it go....How far can you turn your head?  Easily get your chin over each shoulder, then push with your hand an further inch or so without pain?
I also had a big graze on my chest from the seatbelt.

I think I would tell them about this now, even if you say you don't intend to make a fuss about it,  just so its on record if it flares up in a week or two.

Its always worth a claim.  The descision is whether you accept the monies offerred as full and final settlement or simply pending future problems.....  Wife got 3k a number of years ago (2k initially offerred but persued the matter) but caveat was that settlement was full and final.  She still has slightly restricted mobility as a resut.  

Register your claim so that you can go back to it if needed......

Well done James, looks like a good week all round. I agree with what's been said though, perhaps a visit to your GP for him to check you out and a call to the insurance company to register the fact that you have an injury. The worst case scenario is that after the claim has been settled, you find that you are unable to work for such a length of time that it will cost you money.

Get to your doctors ASAP

You are injured and you need to be checked over properly

Pains always take a day or two to occur

I too would suggest getting your doctor to confirm your Injuries, even if you doŽnt do anymore at least your company knows that there could possibly be a follow on claim.

I would get the neck checked and logged at your GP's, and you have upto 3 years to claim for the injury but it must be logged around the accident date

Agree with Jimbob make 100% sure your not going to suffer in the future.....i hurt my neck just over 4 yrs ago in a fight,just ached at the time but steadily got worse and ended up having a month off work,still suffer now on occasions if i move head to quick or happen to move neck in awkward position.

So be absolutely sure there's no lasting damage....regardless id still make a claim as through no fault of your own you have been made too suffer,im sure if some bloke came up and whacked you in ya neck then kicked you in the leg you wouldnt say ""that's OK mate never mind"".
