Alarm and trim problem
« on: 16 October 2006, 13:40:15 »

Dear All

I have two problems with my otherwise super Omega, one is the alarm keeps going off, how do I disconnect the hooter sound as no-one takes any notice anyway. The other is the rear door trim keeps lifting and catching the drivers door, tried to stick it with araldite and no-nails, but didn't work any ideas welcome please.

With regards the Alarm check the bonnet plunger is not loose this can cause the alarm to go off.

Worked for me cable tied it and not had any problems with it since.

HTH :)

wrt trim, a member here used an epoxy with some success.

wrt to alarm, is it horn (check bonnet switch as suggested) or power sounder?

To proove its the bonnet switch you can simply unplug it, if it no longer goes off then you know what to fix.

For the rear door trim remove it.. get one from your local scrappy..just take your time peeling it off with luck (done it twice) it should come off almost perfect..then use some glue (I used evostick) with the clips and all should be fine..just a little care needed. :y

I had the same problem with the trim on '94 CDX. You will not get it to stick back for any length of time. I managed to get it to stay for 3 weeks at most then it would peel again.

I agree either breakers yard or new one is IRO £50,
