Can I assume that these people that aren't lazy, also buy televisions without a remote control, after all why get something to change channels when you can do it yourself!!!!!

So i think the answer is here....hit it with a lump hammer.....if it breaks off...chuck it away....unneeded part   ....if it aligns up.....job done

Try removing and refitting the vent, never know, it might fit back into correct position

Does my passenger airbag look depressed to any of you?  I'm thinking that someone has rested something heavy on it in the past (probably large pieces of timber) and it has bent the mountings.
My thinking is that i disconnect the battery, remove the glove box then remove the airbag and straighten up the bracketry.

I had a similar problem with mine when I installed the Elite interior (I fitted a complete mini facelift interior including all four airbags into a pre mini facelift)
I don't think its the air vent you have a problem with, I think it's the passenger airbag trim panel.
When you remove-refit the passenger airbag or even the glove box you have to first remove the side air vent to access some screws and a long allen bolt which holds the airbag trim panel at the top.
A way around this is you can just bend the trim upwards once you've removed the three allen screws holding the bottom of the trim panel just inside the glove box, BUT by doing this it bends the mounting hinge and the face of the trim panel has a high spot in the centre which makes both ends lower giving the appearance that the air vent is too high....

To rectify this you need to remove the trim panel in the correct way, remove air vent, long allen bolt and the three allen screws, once the panel is off you can carefully (note the carefully bit as you can easily bend the hinge to far) straighten it and the refit making sure you adjust it before you tighten every thing.

I know this sounds a bit long winded but I think it's well worth doing.
