Although i could get one off eBay i'd prefer one i knew the history of.

i don't often give mine stick, but coming back today down the back lanes past 2 slow moving cars, in 3rd ... with no one else in it, but me...(being 10 stone) it doesn't have shift! Really perks up now from 4.5k revs right up to 6k...

I have noticed that 97 octane gives me 40/50 extra mile per tank full as opposed to 95 octane.

Worth the extra 4p. :y

Unfortunately not much as i would like! - Got up at 7:30 today (yes thats AM!  :o) - and cycled into Uni, just over 5 miles... in London traffic it certainly wakes you up!! Feeling good about it though, done 175 miles since the start of October on my bike, but had a few near death experiences with drivers cutting me up. Why is it they assume your going dead slow? i cruise @ 20mph generally and nudge 28mph going down hills.

I was on some roundabout and a women in a Civic just did't brake and cut me up right in on the junction, she was quite surprised to see some guy literally bashing his hand on her drivers door window showing her the V sign doing 20mph....

Then you get people who are pi$$ed off you undertake them and try and ram you off the road! Ahh all good fun.


Anyway getting cracking on my Project for uni, i am making a Multimedia Map for theme parks that will run on mobile phones, in particular the phones that run the Symbian operating system (Nokia N70 N80ect...)

Its going to have a live up date queue system where using the software i am marking for the phone, when in a theme Park such as Thorpe Park it will give you live updates on ride queue times, navigation via maps to park facilities, and download technical info on the ride itself...

Got spurred on today by my project Supervisor who said if you continue the way you are, i will recommend your project to be showcased at the "Made in Brunel 2007" which shows the best work from Brunel University in Islington London  :)

I drive a 2.2 manual and get 24 mpg round town & 33 on motorway at 80 mph.  

Looking at the other posts I should ease off a bit - I blame the heated seats & aircon for the extra juice.

I wack mine on Eco around town... even more now that its so cold Eco seams fine. But it does tend to mist up more than on Auto. But on a motorway run i leave it on Auto....

I drive quite hard and most mileage is around town or commuting along country lanes with speed varying between 20 and a hell of a lot faster.

I get between 15 and 17 on gas, I also got 17 on gas from Okehampton to Worcester cruising at speed limit with a large van on the back - I got 11mpg through part of Cornwall, foot to floor off lights and up hill with the van.

Unfortunately I haven't done a long run on gas without a caravan but I'd guess around mid 20s to low 30s would be about right.

It still needs some tweaking however as the mixture is a bit out in a couple of places.

They say don't tow on gas and don't exceed 80 on gas, well I tow on gas happily and I can cruise on motorways happily.

I used to get 22 on petrol out of a 2.0 auto, same from a 2.0 Carlton GLi high comp. manual. Prior to that my Sunbeam anywhere from 20 to 35, but I did take on 2.0 cars and win.

The V6s are thirstier but not overly so and the 2.6 is an excellent comprimise not much slower than the bigger V6s and a little more economical, similar performance off the line due to gearing. 2.0 is underpowered but not painfully so. The extra power and torque is brilliant as it the engine note. A gas V6 is cheaper to run than the 4 and has similar costs to the 2.2 TD but I have an autobox, 2 more cylinders and 60 more bhp

Do you mean that a gas V6 is cheaper to run that a 4 cylinder on petrol ?

Do you mean that a gas V6 is cheaper to run that a 4 cylinder on petrol ?

Yes - as said similar costs to the 2.2 TD
