The flame trap mark refers to is a black plastic box connected to the breather at back right of camcover, if you dont have one there will just be a rubber elbow pipe here.
It sounds to me like there is a breather problem. Get a new Oil Separator (aka flame trap) from Vx (£7 to £10) also get a new gasket for the steel breather pipe to block joint.
Remove the steel pipe, two bolts at bottom; clean out throughly; flakes of dried oil muck from here get into the idle valve. refit pipe with new oil separator. You cut the old rubber elbow pipe to make the joining pieces to the breather pipe and cam cover if one wasnt fitted previously.
Pull the small breather pipe off cam cover (front left) you should be able to blow / suck through this pipe. If not follow it to throttle body or manifold (depends on year) and clean out the hole (throttle body) or banjo spigot (manifold).
Check that the pipe spigot into the camcover is free / not blocked. clean out with a drill bit in finger tips. 3 mm?
Remove large breather pipe completely and clean out with kitchen paper & paraffin etc. Check that it has not delaminated inside.
Remove and flush out the ICV with carb cleaner then add a drop or two of light oil.
Clean the throttle body well, make sure that the edges of the throttle disc and the bore of the body are spotless. If very mucky remove throttle body to clean properly....need new gasket.
Hopefully this will cure it, each year afterwards just remove IAC and leave to soak while you drain oil and change filter then refit with new gasket.
If problem persists and there is lots of oil in the intake then its possible that there is some wear in No1 bore and a damaged piston ring but this only affects earlier engines with +150k.
