Transmission fluid capacity
« on: 12 March 2007, 15:42:49 »

Right, not going to chance anything with the replacement AR35 box I've bought, so I'm going to change the fluid and clean the filter out before it gets put in.

Does anybody have any idea how much fluid is needed from empty?  Just trying to work out whether I should get 1 litre quantities or whether I should buy a 5 litre bottle.

Haynes says 8.4l from dry, 4.4 after removing sump. So you will need 9l.

Jesus - at nearly 8 quid a litre this is going to be expensive.  Is there a particular brand that stands out above any others?

Try a different motor factor - my one is £23 for 5l of Dexron III retail price, cheaper trade...

Just had a look on Ebay and 10 litres can be had for about £40 which isn't too bad.

Just in case you aren't aware it must be Dexron III or equivalent.

Can you mix it with Dexron III?

The Titan ATF 4000 is Dexron III equivalent so yes you can mix it with Dexron III.

Am I looking at the wrong bit or has it gone up to £23.99 since you last bought some?  :-?
