I tend to get through 16-20 500ml cans of 5% lager a week is this normal?

Thats approximately half a liter of alcohol.. Your liver and other organs will be tired and will have dry skin issues..

Read somewehere else every liver have some limit of filtering and converting alcohol...When you become old you will have problems..

Anyway its your choice..

PS: I usually drink 1-2 times a week(weekend) and prefer strong drinks 2-3 glass but not more thats good for dropping cholesterol level
