57 is icv voltage low.  It will use set value for it, rather than actuals.  Problem with ICV normally, but could be loom has worn through.

165, no idea, not in TIS

I've also just bought the Tech2 lead and software (part english / part hungarian), and have the same 2 fault codes present in the engine section (57 and 165), which would suggest that they are down to ropey software and I would guess can be ignored.

I have , however, managed to clear a rather annoying airbag light that has been on for a few weeks (no, i didn't remove the bulb  ;) )

Hey Chaps,

Sorry to barge in on you like this... but i am keen to know what tech2 kit you are using?  I would imagine it's not the original kit as that costs a fortune.  I was wondering if you were using somthing like this -

This is the one I have just bought of Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TECH2-Diagnostics-KIT-for-Vauxhall-Tech-2-UK-seller_W0QQitemZ110117141511QQihZ001QQcategoryZ30921QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The software is far from ideal. Works Ok on engine and some ancillary area's, but some of the displayed areas / results are in hungarian, which means you cannot use all facilities.

I noticed a thread elsewhere talking about Opelscanner, which looks much better software, however I looked at the product and its 350 euros (you get what you pay for I guess).

Cheers,

They both look simular to me, just another seller!

I wonder if you can enable things like cruise at all?  I plan to enable cruise on mine soon.

with regards to your 'hungarian' bug, why not try an download the latest software from the link on ebay?  or better still why not use this link...

I have the real thing :D

The cheapo lead can only read/reset codes, it cannot reprogram stuff (which includes doing cruise etc).  But at Ł30 ish, you can't expect it to...
