There are a few members your way who may be able to help, or as Markie says, have a go yourself.  Easy enough, but DON'T BEND THE OIL PIPES!!

Then flushing the coolant system daily for 2 or 3 weeks....

Indeed do not bend the pipes - its easier to loosen them - more on that if you decide to go with it.

To be honest ive just done this and after getting the correct tools the most annoying part is the flushing. Which seeing as it lasts a few weeks you would have to do anyway.

Cost £125 with trade card  :y

about 95/96......not many Omegas got the old version.....it was mainly Cavaliers that suffered...

The key thing that kills them is irregular coolant changes and the wrong anti freeze mix.....

Black things are missing I guess...

As for EGR rmoval.....undo the bolt union (24mm) where the flexi pipe joins the EGR base and remove the single torx bolt on the bracket next to it rather than disconnecting it from the plenum.....coz it saves a gasket and gets it out of the way....

Ah, I disconnected mine the other day, should I have put a new gasket in then? presumably that's the funny shaped thin metal bit between the EGR and the plenum?
