Damp boot
« on: 19 May 2007, 17:55:07 »

I've jst noticed that the boot on mt omega is damp as if its letting a bit of water in somewhere. Its more towards the back of the boot.
Anyone got any idea where it could be coming from?

Inside the boot to the right you have the first aid compartment, at the back of this there is a pipe which runs with the shape of the wheel arch into the floor my dads car was getting a wet floor and found the pipe was not going through the floor its to do with where the rain water goes.

Just something worth checking

HTH and makes sense

or it will be runing down the channels either side of the boot, or like a previous vectra I owned, coming up from underneath ( lift the boot carpet and check everything there)

On every one i have been asked to sort its always been the rearlight seals letting the water in!!!
remove lights and smear seals with clear silcon sealant or replace seals!! ;D

Thanks Danny - mine was a bit damp too.  I've just checked it and it was completely empty apart from 1 damp sock right in the middle, I never thought it could be that.  Go figure  ::)

do you have a sunroof? if so there are two pipes running from the sunroof, along the roof skin and exiting behind the rear wheel arch, as markie said about pipes, we could be talking about the same thing!
mine blocked on my 2.2saloon and caused a wet boot mat.
