Thermostat
« on: 21 May 2007, 20:49:30 »

Looks like my 3.0 MV6 coolant leak is Thermostat related.

Got in all other gaskets, spark plugs, cam covers etc to do as well,

But what is the full shopping list for thermostat,
Thermostat?
Housing?
Gaskets?
Sealant?
Bolts?

What exactly do I need and part no's and prices anyone?

Cheers

 Hi.

If it is thermostat related, then I did replace it all when I fitted the ABS module.

I replaced the thermostat complete with housing, transfer pipe seals and all the inlet manifold rubber seals. (All genuine Vauxhall parts.)
I'm just wondering if it's coming from where the transfer pipe goes into the thermostat housing, as it has two rubber seals, and is just a push fit to hold it in, relying on the bolt on the outside of the block to hold it in place.

Have to say though, that I did have the plenum off a couple of times after that, as I changed the manifold seals, in an effort to get the idle back, when I thought it was an air leak, and also when the crank sensor packed up, and there was no evidence of leaking then.

Hope that is of some help.
