Cabin Blower
« on: 09 July 2007, 08:40:23 »

Hi there folks,
I can't seem to get the dash fan to blow out through the centre grill (the setting that blows on your face.) It sometimes works when I fiddle around with the switch from foot setting to windscreen and back to centre, or if I bang the top of the dash, (and look like some kind of nutter to other road users) and when I get it to blow out of the centre grill, the next time I use the car its back to blowing to feet or screen even thou the switch is on centre grill setting.
Any one else had this problem.
Thanks

Thanks for that, can I replace this switch, what dose it involve. Have had a look behind the switch leaver and there is one screw, is it just a matter of undoing this, or is it a dash dismantle.
Thanks again,
Lyn.

right ive managed to just about get a few pics but not as many as i wanted to get up so here goes the vids wouldnt encode at all for some strange reason

if ur radio is coded make sure u have the code or what ever because it will need removeing

this is what mine looked like b4 i removed it

remove the switchs witha screw driver both sides as u can see im haveing to hold the camera and i couldnt do it and gentle prise out the switch like so

now when u get to the hazard switch u have to remove the cap u will think u have broke it but u havent there is 2 tabs left and right of the white centre bit u have to push in to get it to move then gently pull out

ten remove all the knobs off the heater matrix and then it should look like this there is a screw under each one

then removeing the ashtray take out the ashray that removes to empty the ash then the screw at the back of the ashtray

now pull the ashtray out and then the face should come away then slide the plugs off the back of the facia push them down if u have tc u will have to remove this switch as well by priseing out the blanks first then the tc switch its self then remove the plug from the back of these then remove the plug at the back of the main fascia this should then remove the entire section of the centre console facia hope this helps plz add to this if i have forgoton something

Thanks for the guide, you are a man of your word and an early bird. I shall have a go when I know more about how the switch actually works, now I know how to get one out from a scrap yard.
Thanks again for the great pics. Maybe you should post them in the how to section.
Thanks again.
Lyn.
