If you change the discs, you must always change the pads.

Personally, I would buy the pad sensors as well, so that everything is working properly...

Sensors are cheap enough and easily fitted.

I fitted brand new GM Discs and Pads to the front of mine some time ago, cost around £60. But i did it DIY, dead easy though, even for me!

You need to find yourself an MOT testing station that does NOT carry out any repairs. There's no financial loss or gain to be made if they pass or fail your car. You local council will often do MOTs, although they don't need to advertise the fact, as they are busy enough with their own fleet of vehicles.
