Facelift Fault Codes

Am I right in saying that you cannot read the fault codes on a 2000 Facelift Omega without a Tech II

Not quite,
You need an  ODB compatible reader...

BUT

yours is a 2.0, so I think you can paperclip test still!
Think its the 2.2, 2.6 and 3.2 you need a proper reader for.

Correct!  Except the 2.0l is not OBDII compliant.
