Needs cleared out, bud. You run the risk of knackering the aircon controls if left to drip and get wet. Either a wet and dry vacuum cleaner to suck out the crap or run the risk of backlash when using a power washer down the pollen filter lower regions when blasting it clear. Don't wear white trainers as it will drip onto your shoes.......
Remember to replace the filter as well as its FUBAR'ed if it gets wet.....
You got me thinking now about the issue with my air con, has the same happened to mine in the past.

Strong chance........
Just been out and looked, the compartment has about 3 inches of water in it, I put a metal coat hanger down there and pulled out a hand full of leaves, checked the carpets on the passenger side, the sponge underneath is wet, not soaking, just damp, do you think this may be the prob with the air con, but surly the electrics are sealed in some way as not to allow water on them.
