Thanks for help no more crecking door
« on: 19 September 2007, 09:21:44 »

Thanks very much:   It was the nicest trip I have had to Vauxhall spares department ever. After a read last week of how to replace the Bush on the drives   door when to vau to Saturday a spent the total sum of 50p for two new Bush,s . Took 5 mins to fit thanks to the how to and no more creaking. :y

All give the Breathers a good clean out BUT this time I also cleaned the Y shaped part of the system the one at the back on the engine [ sorry don't know the name.of it]. There was so much muck in it. When all do the engine seem to run a lot better and it starts we a nice big ROAR. Thank for all the help and the Great How To,s.

Steve.  ;)

So true just out of intrest what is the name of the Y shape part at the back of the breather system and is it best to remove it when cleaning. I could not get to it to remove so just used  lots of carb cleaner and a coat hanger. Is that ok.

Thanks

Hose, Connecting, Cylinder Block Ventilation

and no, thats not OK - in affect you have sprayed carb cleaner into the engine oil (and possibly a load of that gunk), so that probably should be changed now.  It needs to come off to do properly.
