Code 59
« on: 10 September 2007, 16:57:08 »

Hi,

Just done my rocker gaskets and put everything back together.

No more leaking but the engine management light is staying on. I have done the paperclip test and it is coming up code 59 which is " 59 Inlet manifold valve 1 Low voltage " so ive been told.

How do i sort this?

The only thought I have is to recheck every electrical connection there is and make sure no cables have become trapped anywhere. If you didn't have the code before then I would suspect that something is adrift somewhere.

The fault code info is here:

I think that means your rear multiram connector is off - right at the back of the plenum.

That connector is actually on. But can remember the rams didnt work before hand anyway.

Do you think it needed to be unplugged for the em light to show a fault?

If it's unplugged with the ignition on, or perhaps the engine running, the fault will be logged. As soon as the fault is rectified i.e. the connector plugged back in the engine management light will go out. The logged fault can still be read with the paperclip until its cleared automatically by something like 20 clean engine starts.

I've left this off by accident before, but spotted it during my final pre-start checks.  No.1 in the pic.
