1998 v6 elite...have managed to trace water leak to bottom of coolant radiator just on the seam by the drain plug..now believe only permanent solution is a total radiator replacement...how difficult/easy is this to replace and is there a "how to " or is it pretty much undo and then replace as reverse..any advise would be appreciated

 See the how 2 mate, if your interested i have a rad for sale with the  fan for £35. gen vx.It has been flushed through and there are no leaks. Pm me if your interested.

thanks ffcgary1...may take you up on that,just need to check how easy/difficult it is to replace as i am not a mechanic..also unsure if differences between auto and manual ....

Auto has a transmission  oil cooler built into its rad, a manual doesn't.

You are quite correct, and if the profile had included it was an auto i would have seen that. What is the car mate. man or auto. The rad i have is from a manuel elite.

Its not a bad job to change rad, bit fiddly lifting it out.  You will lose a lot of coolant, and a bit of ATF (so check ATF level after - better still, change it).  You will need 4 new copper washers for the Oil pipes to rad banjos (or reaneal old ones).

It's a fair bit easiler on a manual, without the unions to mess with

Just wanted to check?is coolant radiator the same for 2.5 as 3.0 on auto elite,and anybody know what part no,s the washers are for banjo bolts on oil cooler pipes as advised these will require replacing,as want to be sure I have all bits before stripping out...antifreeze/radiator/washers..anything else

52463050 is 2.3/3.0 with aircon are same part number at £208 plus VAT retail....
52463046 is 2.5 auto excluding aircon is £224 plus VAT retail....
