Good morning all!

Are there any workshop manuals available?  Is the Haynes book worth getting?

It's for a '99 facelift 2litre saloon auto.

I've seen a Haynes manual for L-T registered cars which I presume is pre-facelift.

There isn't a manual for the facelift cars. The pre-facelift one is still worth getting as most of the information is still valid. Plenty going 2nd hand on ebay

Plus, as yours is a 2.0, even more applicable, not long after they went to the 2.2, which the manual doesn't cover

I got a real paper one for a fiver on Ebay. Depends if you need it quick I guess.

I think its worth having the hardcopy one.   Don't worry about pre/post facelift - that will only affect bodywork/interior trim etc - you'll be fine for the dirty bits

Got my Haynes manual from a car boot sale, £2.00.

But as already stated, depends how soon you need 1.

I pick up me new '99 2.0ltr CDX Thursday night and need to change the timing belt and water pump.  Current mileage is 90k and both weren't changed at 80k  

I understand having experience of changing them on other cars I'm looking at an hour to do?

  Discovered after search myself that none available for my 2.2, what sort of info. is not available in earlier manuals, and what is the most up to date one available which may be most useful.   :question

Just bought a nice 98 3 litre with a blown head gasket, it looks like a pretty unpleasant job! Are there any manuals available that might help. Have been told heads can only be skimmed by 10 thou is this correct

The standard Haynes manual will cover your engine.

Are you sure the head gasket is gone?
Most V6 owners on here find that it is the Oil Cooler that's blown,
giving similar symptoms to a Head Gasket failure.

Thanks Grumpy, it runs fine for about 1 min then clouds of smoke/steam, it also pressurises the cooling system. Will make sure before I start on it
