Turning off Traction

I don't seem to have a button for this on my 96 MV6. Is there an easy way of turning this off?

i might be wrong but if you haven't got a traction control button then you haven't tc, so it's already "turned off" so to speak.

i'm sure that an mv6 should have tc though.

There is normaly a wire that you ground behind the centre console section to disable TC....other wise its always on.

A 96 MV6, must be ex-police?
So button could be disconnected :(
Does the TC button light and turn off when you start the car?

On mine(98) it is one of the 3 buttons next to the stereo, later ones have it in the row at the top.

Being ex-plod, I assume they have removed button.  Easy enough to refit...

yeah the plod cant be trusted without TC, they crash enough cars with it on lol

anyway the easiest way to turn it off it just to remove the fuse, this will also turn off the ABS (which on the old omegas isnt a bad thing if you know how to brake  :y)

I'd be inclined to find the button wiring. Disabling TC/ABS will mean no speedo signal and might be frowned upon if your insturance company find out you're driving with factory standard safety features disabled.

Thanks for the help guys. Yes it is ex-plod. I have a lot of bits blanked on the dash and wouldn't have the first clue which was meant to be the TC. I did look at taking th fuse out but noticed it also controlled the ABS and speedo. Oh, and it definitely has TC, but it's crude and annoying. I'd rather rely on my right foot to tell the car where to go, rather than the engine just die, especially living in the sticks with a high chance of snow. :) If someone could describe where the switch should be I'll investigate. Other than that it may mean breaking into the loom.

The row of buttons above the radio / below the climate is in this order (from left to right)

Passenger Heated Seat
Rear Blind
Alarm Ultrasonics deactivation
Demist
Hazard
Air recirculation
ECO (A/C off)
TC
Drivers Heated Seats

There might be blanks if some options aren't fitted, but either way TC should be second from the right.
