Fitting cruise control
« on: 21 December 2007, 12:35:06 »

Well i got my new stalk and fitted it as per the excellent instructions on here :y, just needs the tech 2 thing done (after xmas) to enable.
Only problem now is the new stalk has bright white writing on it and the original LH talk has faded writing :P, i may have to change that one too so they match... its never ending..... ;D

Mark, have you tried the cruise out? Some members have found that it is already enabled and didn't need to be Tech2'd. I wasn't that lucky but you never know.  :y

Unfortunately... its not enabled already..
The strangest thing just happened. Started the car, spanner light came on, flicked over to LPG, it went off, drove off.
I thought i'd thrash it in sports mode down to the roundabout except the car wouldn't go over 4000 revs, pulled over, turned off and restarted and it was fine. Bloody vauxhalls.... ;D

Yet to see an Omega DBW petrol with it preenabled.  If you get over my way, I suspect I am cheaper than any business for enabling.  If yours is a manual, you may need a clutch switch...

Re: TheBoy - you might need a clutch switch.

If you are in final gear, the clutch would not be required when enabling cc or am I missing something... Sorry for a newbie question.

The switch turns off the cc if the clutch pedal is pressed or the brake pedal is pressed  8-)

Clutch switch is required for saftey in manuals, if you press the clutch it dis-engages the cruise. In a manual, no clutch switch - no cruise!

I fitted a Cruise Stalk to my 2.5td Manual CD, and It worked, clutch as well, the only thing it does'nt do is the Speed increment, ie push the far button once and it should increase a couple of MPH, and the resume speed memory does not work.

I assume would need to get it Tech 2'd for the complete operation?
