Anbody interested in a Front Heated Screens
« on: 10 January 2008, 13:44:40 »

[smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]  I know this subject has been aired, but this different.

I can now offer Heated Front Screen, but there is a catch for this to happen I need a minimiun of 20 orders with a deposit for the screens.
The screen will be top tint with fine wire heating elements just like ford have and they are type approved the Europe, Canada and the United States, if you are interested in buying one please let me know.

They will cost £218.38 inc + P&P, but if enough people are interested I will be able to get the price down a bit, possible to £ 200 > £207.50 +P&P, It all depends on how many people are interested, it's like most things, at first the are expensive, but as more are sold the price drops some until you reach the base line, which if I can get an orders of 40 + then I will sell they at the base price of £200 inc +P&P straight away, the postage and packaging I an working on because of it being glass  :-/ and the size

That maybe but you still get cold using the de-icer and how many times have you run out of de-icer on the coldest of morning, and when you are runing late  :(  :'( it does happen and just think of all those  smug Ford drivers that live by you, they just start they car hit a switch and 60 seconds later or so driving off down the road with the front and rear screens nice and clear, but us lot still using our cans of de-icer

The idea is good, but it seems a bit over the odds to replace a good windscreen... can't they do the film on your own car, or run an exchange service with refundable surcharge etc...?

wiring them in has to be considered, i think they need a fair bit of power.

Then you get the reflections in the metal, driven Mondeo's with them, they bugged me.

When it gets frosty, mine goes in the garage  :y

That's OK if you are home, when it's frosty but if you are out some where (Cold hands and a can of de-icer)

I've spoken to a friend how runs an Evo 6 car with a heated front screen fitted and all he did was to join it to the rear screen switch and uprated the correct fuse.
Yes you get reflections from them, but you do get use to them, if you drive them all the time

What would you do with the old screens  ::) it's not if you could split they into two and use them to produce new ones

Heated screen is never something i have really wanted, if its frosty you still have to scrape the ice of the side windows...

I got rid of my Laguna after 3 years in December, It had a heated front screen, I can count on one hand the number of times I used it in three years of ownership.

Or a quick squirt of de-icer, heated screens on and away you go, knowing that the front is not going to ice up like it can, if you use de-icer and a scraper  ;)
