I get about 24mpg from my 3.0 MV6 auto on the daily commute with loads of stop/start traffic. On a motorway run at 65-70mph I can get 32mpg  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

best i have seen on the MFD was 29 on a run back from cornwall in september more or less a constant 70mph with the cruise control on quite a lot! the worst was, well, dont want to talk about it but the MFD  showed an average speed of 80mph over 250 miles!!

my 2.5 auto averaged 23.5 over the last year,i do a lot of short journeys though. i changed the oil last week and what came out of the filler neck could have kept hellmans supplied for a while!

I've found cruise has a slightly negative effect on economy, both cabled and dbw

I started a new job in November which requires lots of Motorway miles.

My 2002 3.2 MV6 will do:

36-37mpg at 60mph
33-34mpg at 70mph
31-32mpg at 80mph

For the previous 2 years I worked from home and did loads of short journeys which knocked it down to 23mpg.

I'm very happy with the motorway consumption, I hought I was gonna have to chop it in for a diesel but then our compny introduced a new mileage allowance that recognises bigger engined cars.

I calculated I need to do 26mpg to break even so I'm easily doing that.

 ;)

That's about what mine will do. If you can keep the speed down it is pretty good. Seems a bit of a waste though [smiley=evil.gif]

...... If you can keep the speed down .....

Which is why I tend to use cruise where & when I can. It helps to preserve my licience, as my speed would tend to creep up to near 3 figures without it.  :-?  ;)

Just don't look at instant consumption when you kick it down up a hill......

;DIt'll only get down to around 7mpg! ;D
7.1mpg appears to be hard coded limit on both MID types I've 'really tested' on...

Ive wondered why i couldnt get my 2.2 to show less than 7.1mpg  ;D :y

Me too, Cruise has the habit of dropping down a gear & accelerating rapidly to restore the speed whereas a human would gently squeeze the throttle & resume speed gently thereby economising on fuel

An Omega's cruise is very gentle compared to a Senator, they really did want to restore your previous speed ASAP!  ;)
